For payrolls using payroll lock, each pay group's federal tax liability was evaluated independently. When a legal entity had multiple pay groups sharing the same check date, the next-day deposit frequency override would not trigger if no single pay group exceeded $100,000 — even when the combined liability did. This caused deposit due dates to be incorrectly set to semi-weekly, creating risk of late tax deposits.

The payroll lock process now aggregates federal tax liabilities across all pay groups for a legal entity before evaluating deposit frequency. When the combined liability exceeds $100,000 on a shared check date, the next-day deposit frequency is correctly applied.
